The Best Hot Cocoa Mix Recipe You’ll Ever Need

What’s better than hot cocoa on a chilly winter night? Especially when it’s out of your favorite Christmas mug, in your favorites Christmas PJ’s, watching your favorite Christmas movie. Can you tell I like Christmas? Anyway, this cocoa mix is so rich and creamy and decadent. I love my hot cocoa super creamy which is why I never add water to cocoa mixes. Except for this one. Trust me, you don’t want to add milk to this mix. It becomes way too thick and creamy (I know, I didn’t think there was such a thing as “too thick and creamy” when it comes to hot chocolate!) So believe me when I say water will suffice and you will have the creamiest hot chocolate you’ve ever tasted!

Oh, and this is by no means a healthy, low-fat, low sugar recipe. You can deal with that healthy business after the holidays!

What you’ll need:

2lb box of Nestle Quick
1lb powdered sugar
11oz jar of powdered coffee creamer
8qt box of powdered milk
1 jar with lid for storage
Festive Holiday Ribbon
Paper (for directions tag)

Directions:

You have options here. You can either:

Combine all ingredients and pour into your gift jar. This allows the recipient of this gift to be able to simply scoop out however much of the mix they want to make individual mugs of hot chocolate.
Layer the ingredients in the jar. The downside of doing it this way is that the person who receives this will have to dump out the entire jar and make one large batch of hot chocolate.
Add a tag with directions on how to prepare a serving of the hot cocoa. We recommend 2tbs of the cocoa mix and top with hot water in a mug. You may like it with more or less of the mix. There is no right or wrong here!
Hot chocolate is customizable! Add crumbles of peppermints or gingerbread cookies to this mix, for a festive twist. You can either combine these into the mix or attach a cute baggie to your gift jar with these crumbles as garnishes.
