Clove and Orange Sugar Hand Scrub

There is just something about the smell of clove that instantly makes you feel like it’s fall! Pair it with orange and it’s the perfect combination of sweet and spicy fall goodness. This is one of my favorite DIYs because of how easy, low-budget and luxurious it is. This can double as a body scrub for the shower but we usually keep it in a small jar in our half bath so guests can enjoy it too! (Pssst! Folks with kids, this will be their new favorite thing and make them actually enjoy washing their hands! Mom win!) Since it has castile soap along with the cleansing and purifying properties of clove and orange essential oils, this can even replace your handsoap. (Read about why our family only uses Young Living Essential Oils here.)

What you will need:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2tbs sweet almond oil
  • 1tsp vitamin E oil
  • 4-5 drops each of clove and lavender essential oils.
  • Pure liquid castile soap

You can find all of these items here.

Directions

  1. In medium glass bowl pour measured sugar.
  2. Add drops of essential oils to sugar and whisk together.
  3. Add sweet almond oil and vitamin E oil to sugar mixture and use a spoon to blend well.
  4. Add the liquid castile soap about a tablespoon at a time until it reaches your personal desired constitency. *This is totally your preference! Some people like their scrubs dry while others like it more liquidy.

Put this hand scrub in a small jar with a little wooden spoon tied to it and you have a great, thoughtful gift for under $5! We hope you love it!
